St James Academy Garden Project - Environmental Award & More!

St James Academy receives Lion’s International Environmental trophy

Bedworth Lions have been presented with The Environmental Trophy at the Lions Midlands District Conference. This was for a volunteer a garden restoration project in local school St. James C of E Academy, Bulkington. The volunteer day held last May, was organised by Lion member Denise Musson, who was also working at the school.

Bedworth Lions presented the school with a donation of £200 to fund the buying of equipment, a table and plants. Volunteers were recruited from staff, parents, members of Bulkington Garden Club and of course children. On a sunny May Saturday everyone worked really hard to resort vegetable beds, tidy the pond and surrounding area and make a herb garden, as well as securing fences.
